Pregnancy Post- Ring test for gender

Okay, the last gender predictor didn't do too well. Are you ladies up for another?

This is a strange one, so get ready. A few years ago my friend introduced me to a technique for not just determining the gender of the baby you're pregnant with, but knowing the gender of all your kids. I generally don't like voo-doo stuff, if I don't know where the power comes from, it freaks me out. This technique told me that I would have two boys, a girl, and then stopped. I knew I would have more than 3 kids, so I disregarded it as nonsense. The crazy thing is, it told me the same thing every time I tried.

On my babycenter birth board, someone brought up this old ring-on-a-string test that I had tried four years ago. My first thought was, well that didn't work for me, I'm pregnant with my fourth and my third is definitely not a girl. But I decided to read on. Surprisingly there are four pages of people posting and I've only seen one that it didn't work for. One person posted saying, that significant life events could change the prediction of your children, which could explain why mine was wrong. Here is a link to the page on babycenter. The interesting thing about these great results is that they are only proven accurate for the past. My friend suggested that maybe our bodies have the capability to somehow affect the test because we already know what gender we've had. I don't know how it works, but I decided it was worth doing a Preggot test on it. I tried it first.

Here's how you do it:
Get a ring, and put it on a string. Hold the ends of the string with one hand, and put out the other hand palm up. (You must be sitting up with your hand out in front of you... you don't want your hand over your stomach)
Make sure the string isn't twisted so the ring isn't spinning.
Hold the ring at the level of your hand, just to the side of your hand and dip it below your hand level three times, then hold it above the center of your palm and wait until it has decided a pattern.

IF it is swinging back and forth, it is indicating boy, IF it is swinging in circles it is indicating girl.

Once it has indicated the gender, dip the ring on the side of your hand three more times and try again. Repeat until you dip the ring and it doesn't swing over your hand, that means it has indicated all the children you will have.

Note: This does include miscarriages. The strange thing is, for my miscarriage it never picked a gender.

Note2: I tried this in a reclined position (okay, okay, I was in the bath!) so my hand was over my belly. It wouldn't stop swinging in circles. There also is a test that you can do when you are already pregnant where you hold the ring over your belly and it will tell you the gender of that particular child. As soon as I sat up and put my hand out in front of me, it was neutral. Weird stuff!

So four years later I tried the test again, and got totally different results. Here is what I got:
#1 boy
#2- miscarriage, undecided- it circled then swung then circled, or something like that
#3 boy
#4 boy
#5 girl
#6 girl
I stopped there. I didn't want to know if there were any more children for me, I can't imagine being pregnant again, it makes me sicker just thinking about it! I'll deal with that later.

So it was right about my three boys, and if this one really is a girl, then it was right! I haven't tried it again yet, but when I did it four years ago it gave me the same result every time.

Try it! And please post your results to tell me if it was accurate for you so far. But PLEASE don't rely on the information about your future children, it was very wrong for me.

So crazy you mentioned this! My grandma used to do this to everyone! It was accurate for my mom and my sister, plus 4 of my sister-in-laws, but not true for me so far. I guess that fits with what you said - all the women it was accurate for had finished having babies! I guess I will have to try it again! I'll let you know what happens! Fun stuff!

Ok, you don't me and I'm not quite sure HOW I got to your blog, but I have done the ring thing, my mom, mil, etc and it has worked. The only thing is, you can't do it while you are pregnant. Or at least that is what I have figured out on myself..it never really worked...we've decided on 4 kids and when I'm not pregnant that's when the thing stops, but when I am pregnant the ring just keeps adding babies!!

Wow...this kinda gave me goosebumps!

I am on my 7th pregnancy. I had 2 m/c then a successful pregnancy with my daughter. Following her, I had 3 more m/c's, and I am now currently 14 wks pregnant.
So I decided to give this test a try for fun, while I'm killing time at work. Here are my results:

1st try: girl result (miscarriage)
2nd try: boy result (miscarriage)
3rd try: girl result (my daughter, so accurate)
4th try: girl result (miscarriage)
5th try: boy result (miscarriage)
6th try: girl result (miscarriage)
7th try: girl result (currently pregnant, have not yet found out the gender)
8th try: no result--the ring stood still when held over my hand.

As hubby and I have been planning on stopping at 2 children, I thought this was pretty neat. And although I try not to put too much stock in mystical signs or old wives tales, it gave me some sort of reassurance that maybe this means that my current pg will be successful as it showed no further results after this one?!?

Thanks for sharing this neat little trick! :)

I just tried this test, and I must say it scared the crap outta me with the accuracy. My results are as follows:

Try #1: girl result (miscarriage)
Try #2: boy result (my 7 year old son)

Try #3: girl result (miscarriage)
Try #4: boy result (miscarriage)
Try #5: girl result (miscarriage)
Try #6: girl result (currently pregnant)

Try #7: girl result
Try #8: girl result
Try #9: stopped

It was accurate for every single child I have been pregnant with so far (minus the one I'm 5 weeks pregnant with right now since its too early to tell). But if the last 3 were right then I'll have 3 more girls, which I would love! I'll keep you posted.

Yes I tried this and I did this like a hundred times and my husband actually did it over my hand with the same results

try 1- girl ( I have a 3 year old daughter)
try 2 - boy
try 3 - it doesn't do anything

I am 5 weeks pregnant so I will let u know if the results were turn I do know that this is our last child so we will see :)

I never done this over my hand, but I did it during my last pregnancy (boy) and during three friends' pregnancies (boy, girl, girl). It swung in really BIG circles for that last one, and she later found out she was expecting identical twin girls! It was right all four times. I haven't done it for this baby yet, but I do plan to as it gets a little farther.

Maybe I'll try it over my hand... later. Not sure it'll work to like it's supposed to if I'm pregnant when I do it!

I have 2 pregnant friends, both 16 weeks, and a few weeks ago we did this test with them, one result being a girl, the other boy. a few of us other girls had a go for fun and the ring didnt move or swing at all. we had only done this test on our tummies, none of us are pregnant so accepted it not moving. We have just had another girly night in, so did it again. Exactly the same results as last time! WE also tested another pregnant friend who knwos the sex of the babya nd we had the correct result! Then all the other girls had a go, tummies first, not moving, then did the test on our hands which straight away moved for everyone. When it was my turn, (none pregnant lady) it started swinging!!! i made someone else hold it and it did it again!! guess what im going to buy in the morning!! hahaha! hey, we shall see tommorow! hehehe x

oh and all other sites i googled for a nose have said the opposite way to yours, and the way we used.. swinging for a boy, circle for a girl is what we went by! why does all others say different???!! thats how we have always thought it was x

there are lines on your hand that show how many kids you'll have. accourding to this, i'll have three kids, im only 17 so no time soon. some one showed me this string method today and it works on them and showed the number and gender of her kids. she tried it on me and it showed that i'll have three kids like it did on my hand. weird! it clearly said a boy then a girl and then another boy.
it was so cool. and i actually believe this.

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant, anxious to know the sex of my baby:) This is going to be my 3rd pregnancy, but my 1st was not successful. My results:
1st try: circles, girl (miscarry)
2nd try: swing side to side, boy (he is 3 years old)
3rd try: circles, girl (current pregnant; don't know the sex, but I sure hope its right!!)
4th try: circles, girl (hmm interesting)
*after the 4th it stops. When i do it over my tummy, its still then it goes in circles right away! every time I do the ring test, it gives me same results. I was so freaked out by this, I had my mom do this, who has 3 children. I am her 2nd and only girl. Her results were accurate!! Boy, girl, boy...and then it stops! Creepy stuff, but it gives me a little hope. I sure will be back to let you know what happens..

I was wondering if you can help me with something. I did the test like you said, and it came out like this:
1. Circles-Girl
2. Side to side- Boy
3. Stops
4. side to side- Boy

all im wondering is why on the third pregnancy it doesnt even give a gender but it gives a fourth one and after it just stops. does it mean miscarriage or something like that?? im not pregnant but i am curious.

Tried test multiple times and it gave same results everytime. Try 1 boy (true) Try 2 girl(true) Try 3 boy(Idk yet, due in a week) Try 4 girl Try 5 boy & girl WOW TWINS?! & Try 6 Stopped......I WAS DEFINATELY SPOOKED BY THIS TEST!!!!

latinalonestar said...

I did it 4 times with same result. I'm pregnant now but don't know the gender. It predicted a girl and then it predicted that I would have one other child, a boy. I already have a boy so it could be right. It stopped after 2 kids.

I got interesting results:

1st result- girl (m/c years ago, always felt it was female)
2nd- Boy (he is 6)
3rd- Boy (he is 3)
4th- Girl (7 weeks pregnant atm, having dreamed of holding a baby girl before 2 weeks before the missed period)

I did it with a ring my man gave me, silver with an amethyst, on a strand of my own hair. When I did this over his hand, got 2 results, boy then girl. (My youngest boy is his but not the eldest, and he has no other kids)I haven't tried it over my tummy, as I use a pendulum there, and that says girl too. I'm now keen to ring test absolutely everybody i meet. After the 4th result all i get is the ring twirling but not circling or going side to side. I actually really want this baby to be a girl, so won't fully trust the result yet, as I could have influenced it myself.

i tired this and it went back and forth for my first pregnancy which was a boy then it stop then i put it back over my hand and it started going in circle which was a girl then when i placed it over my hand again it started going swinging in a diagonal then without out stopping went back and forth the went into a circle which i been told if it swings in a diagonal that is meant to be twins so i guess it was saying my thrid pregnancy would be boy/girl twin. well so far it was right i had my son in 2008 then in 2010 i had my daughter and had a tubal done so if i get pregnant with this tubal i had done 2 years ago and it was to be boy/girl twin it will be a miracle from God. i guess we will have to wait and see if i ever get pregnant in the future

It wouldn't quit moving in sectors. There also is a analyze that you can do when you are already expecting where you keep the band over your tummy and it will tell you the sex of that particular kid.

Will this work foe previous pregnancies if I'm currently pregnant? It swings back and forth for a boy...but I only have 3 girls...then I try again and nothing...which we plan on this one being our last...so is it predicting this pregnancy?

Unknown said...

okay so i did the test last night. I am not pregnant at the moment but will be trying soon. First time it didnt move at all, Second time swung back and forth and 3rd time nothing. But what does it mean the first time around that it didn't move? miscarriage?

So, my friend was telling me about this. My results:

1. Boy (miscarried)
2. Twin girls (my are 17 months. It went counter CC, then immediately went Clockwise before pausing)
3. Boy
4. Boy
5. Girl
6. Stop

I've done it at least 20 times using different methods (because the twin signs are confusing) and every single time it has done the exact same thing.

The subsequent time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I imply, I do know it was my option to learn, but I really thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could possibly fix in the event you werent too busy searching for attention. casino blackjack

Does it matter which hand you used to do the string ring test over? Right or left ?
